CopyDVD

I have downloaded live movie(24 ) using XP Media Centre to my hard drive.Copying from there to the DVD+R was a breeze.I want to watch it when I cannot see the show on TV.
Using Roxio Creator 8 I have tried to see if I can copy it or maybe edit(remove commercials). When I go to the Roxio window to browse I can find the movie file in MY Documents but Roxio says the folder is empty. Not true. What am I doing(or Roxio) wrong.I have tried to move this file to another location.Same result.Anybody knows.I am new in this business and not very good with computers.

My System

When you try to find it with Roxio is there a drop-down menu for file types (avi, mpeg etc)? Try setting it to 'Any File' to prevent it from hiding certain video formats.

This is from a different program, just to give you an idea of what I mean.

I'm confused. You can see and play the file in My Documents using Windows Explorer, but you can't see the file when trying to open it in Roxio? What format is the video? Can Roxio open any other files? Where did you download the video from?

I don't understand how you can't get to the 'Open File' stage. You start Roxio, click 'Open' and you should see a similar dropdown menu to the one in my picture.

Can you drag the file from Windows Explorer into Roxio and open it that way?
