Windows ME recognizes Sony Cybershot p52 - can't access memory stick though
My friends have a Sony Cybershot p52. Everything worked fine with it as long as I have known them with their computer set up. It worked before that too. Recently when you plug it in, it shows the icon in the system tray by the clock, but it doesn't get allocated a removable drive letter like it used to. The drivers for the camera have been updated too. He is running Windows ME and just recently updated that at the MS site. He also recently got Broadband and updated his Norton antivirus. Everything was fine untill all that. Could something with that software be conflicting - don't see what could be, but stranger things happen.........
I had a similar problem with a Classic DV100, but the camera broke before I got the problem taken care of. That was cause by not stopping the device before removing it. Does anybody know what the heck is wrong? Has anybody had anything like this happen? Can anyone help me get Windows to allow access to the camera, to give it a removable storage drive letter when it's turned on? |
