Hi,
Those can be difficult. We need first to double check the cabling and jumpers to make sure it is configured properly. Make sure one drive on the cable has the jumpers set to MASTER and is placed on the END of the ribbon cable and the other drive has the jumpers set to SLAVE and is placed in the middle of the ribbon cable. If you have only one drive on an IDE cable, then place that drive on the END of the ribbon cable and set it as MASTER. (only exception is a Western Digital hard drive and that would have all jumpers off and on the end of the ribbon cable) It is also possible thet you need updated drivers or some other error, but cover the proper set up first and we will go from there. Almost forgot....go check the Start, Control Panel, System, Hardware, Device Manager and see if there are any yellow marks in that area beside that device. Double check those things and then post back.
