Strange DVD Writer Problem - Need help!!
Hi guys hope you can help me out.
I tried using a DVD the other day, this DVD is one I burnt myself a while ago and has worked fine in the past. My computer tried to read it then did nothing, I opened an explorer window to read the disk and it was blank, like I’d put a blank disk in. I tried the disk in another computer and it worked fine. So started experimenting. The drive reads Data + Audio CDs no problem and it will read any brand of DVD except this one, the brand I’ve been using successfully for the last few months, I’ve used nearly 40 of these disks without any problem and now I cant read any of them, data or movies. The blank disks I have left I can still use, computer detects them as a blank disk and I can burn stuff to them using Nero, once I’ve burnt them cant read them. I've recently upgraded my computer to Athlon 64 3700+ Windows XP x64 ABit Mobo I'm not sure if these disks ever worked after I upgraded but I can’t see why that would make a difference, it’s the same drive. I was getting a device status error saying 'Windows failed to load a device driver ....' If anyone can suggest anything that might help I would really appreciate it. Thanks. |
