Cry Windows Movie Maker - can't burn project

I edited some home videos in Windows Movie Maker and wanted to burn them on DVDs, but when I tried to burn the videos I got a message saying there was no disc in the drive. I've tried it with various types of DVDs and CDs and it doesn't work. But my burner works fine when I use Nero.

Do you know what the problem is and what I can do to burn the videos? I spent so much time editing them in Windows Movie Maker that I'd rather not have to redo the whole thing in Nero.

p.s. I hope I'm posting this in the right forum, I'm not sure where it fits the best.

@ Kolur
It could be a conflict with Nero that won't allow recognition with another drive, Nero being a jealous ruler . You can try uninstalling Nero using the Nero Clean Tools. You may have to reinstall the Windows movie-maker stuff to get things back to working after the Nero removal.

It would not be that big of job, or at least easier then Nero removal, to convert your video to Nero files, though.

There alkso may be better solutions than mine, but I noticed your post going unanswered, so I thought I would offer some advice.

When I used Windows Movie maker I had the same problem. I had to save it to the hard drive, then put it on the dvd.

Is it possible to convert the video project to Nero without redoing the whole thing? I edited some things out and added music and text slides and it took quite some time, because I made three such videos before I tried to burn them. Can I somehow just change the file format of the project so that I can open it in Nero and burn it there?

My videos are saved on the hard drive, but I can't burn them. Windows Movie Maker keeps saying there's no disc in the drive when there is one, and I can't open the project in Nero to burn it. What program did you use to burn your videos after you saved them?
