DVD Burner don't work once windows boots?

Hi, I got an older Dell and I tried put in a DVD Burner and once windows boots up, the Drive's power seem to stop working. I'm thinking we gotta set it on Bios but I really don't know, I went in there and I didn't know what to do. Please show me how to make the DVD burner work.

if you cannot see it listed in the bios check the jumper setting

you can also try swapping out the cable. good luck
