@ roadwarrior
What dvd burner are you using?
What firmware version does it have?
What is the MID of the media you are using? You can use DVD Identifier for that.
Most often this error refers to poor quality media. There is certainly enough of it out there available for sale.

@ roadwarrior
What is the MID of the media you are using, as requested in my last post. What is the brand name and model number and firmware version of your burner?

Some good media MIDs are Taiyo Yuden 8X+R YUDEN000T02 or Verbatim brand name media is usually pretty good. It depends on your burner brand as different brands work better or worse with different media...the trick is to find an MID that works well with your bruner and firmware. I can make suggestions but you have to give me the info I requested.

I have tried several different brand names of cd's and finally found one that works. Don't understand why it stopped using the brand that I usually use. But I've got things going again. Thanks for everyones help.

@ roadwarrior
Hey, glad to hear you got things going again...good job!

It is possible that the name brand you were buying decided to switch manufacturers of their discs and they don't say when that happens. You can check by looking at the MID of your older good discs and the MID of the newer ones you are having trouble with. It is possible you got a bad batch...it happens...dvd media is quite variable...there are few manufacturers that consistently put out a good product. I mentioned the only two names I trust out of the hundreds out there.
