CD Drive Ident

I have a Sony CRX216E CD-RW drive on my Dell Dimension 2400 and am trying to determine if I can copy data files including photo files to this drive. I am having trouble doing so - when I click the file , then click the send to item in the drop down menu this particular drive does not show up in the resulting drop down menu. In checking my hardware I find when highlighting this drive and clicking properties the wording under "Type" indicates it is a ROM drive.

The only way (that I am aware of ) you can send files to a CD-RW is to a Formated RW disk in the drive and have directcd running.

Other wise you would want to make a data cd.

You can add an icon in the sendto menu by going to C:\WINDOWS\system32\config\systemprofile\SendTo and copy a shortcut to your cd drive in there.
