DVD drive really slow on my notebook

Hello

From time to time, I have to restore my notebbok to a previous state in order to get the dvd+rw drive running at normal speed. If not, the drive runs at 0.9x max and uses all the cpu resources. The HD light is always on and the computer is at tha brink of stopping. I have contacted HP but they couldn't help.

Any ideas of what could be wrong?

Cheers

Ed

Many thanks. I have followed the instructions there. Unfortunately, as far as I could understand, the problem will come back eventuallyt thanks to Microsoft
