I have a Plumax External case (PM-350U2-LCS) that whenever I move the drive from one system to another the new system tells me I have to reformat the drive.
I have used a couple of different drives in it with the same results. The present drive is a Maxtor 40 GB drive formatted in FAT32. The chip in the case is a Cypress CY7C68300-56PVC. There appears to be no Plumax website (if anyone knows of it I would appreciate it!) and the exact part does not appear on the Cypress website.Any ideas? |

Yes the maxtor is in the external case.
The jumper setting was originally set to Master with Slave. I moved it to Single drive and had the same results. I moved it to CS - cable select that seems to do the trick. I can now see it on y XP and the Win ME system I have here. Never eventhought that would have been an issue. Thanks, Larry |
