dvd does not play

i have a hp compaq tower d220m windows xp professional. sp3. my dvds will not play in windows media player or in my burning studio player...troubleshooting says i might have a problem with dvd decoder or software decoder....my dvd drive is TSST CORP CD/DVDW TS-H552L. Drivers are updated...device manager says device is working fine

Try uninstalling the drive in Device manager and reboot.

Is the drive recognizing the discs? What type of DVD's are you trying to use, data or movie discs?
