Dvd drive doesnt load disc's

My disc drive used to load discs, it now usually doesnt, only occasionally. So i cant play games or rip cd's! :( I dont have a clue why its not working! Help please.

I would try just getting a drive cleaning kit and clean the drive. You can usually find them at retail stores, Best buy, office max, office depot, radio shack may have them also.

Uninstall the optical drive in Device manager and reboot. Windows will reinstall when rebooted.

If you get a cleaning kit be sure it does NOT have any raised places on the disc(usually a brush or hard rubber). They can cause the laser to become misaligned.
What brand & model is the optical drive? New DVDRW's are about $30.
