Computer Quit Recognizing DvD Drive
I have an LG DVD/RW drive, everything was working fine, but I hadnt used it in a week or two, the drive I mean. Now I went to use it and it is like it isnt there? It has power, will open etc, I checked the IDE cable, all is tight. I was going to download and install the driver, but it wont fix the computer not recognizing it? or will it? Any help will be much appreciated.

Re: Computer Quit Recognizing DvD Drive
Check in Device Manager to see if the drive is recognized.
If drive detected in Device Manager uninstall and restart the computer. If not detected in Device Manager check in BIOS to see if the drive is recognized.

Re: Computer Quit Recognizing DvD Drive
it will be listed as a cdrom along with your hard drives
if it is not there try a new data cable on it

Re: Computer Quit Recognizing DvD Drive
What Model is the drive and how old? Will anything else work connected to that IDE Cable/Channel?
I use a LOT of LG DVDRW's and have never had any problems with them.
