HL-DT-ST-DVD-GSA-H60L ata device not working

I have an HP computer with Vista Operating system. The DVD drive stopped working. On "device driver" I get the yellow triangle with exclamation sign. Uninstalled driver and reinstalled and booted each time in between with no luck. Error message says "This device cannot start. (Code 10)" The device is HL-DT-ST-DVD-GSA-H60L ata device. Any thoughts? maybe download new device driver?

Uninstall the drive in Device manage and reboot.

The fix you supply says it is only for Windows XP. I use Vista. ??

Tried this fix and there were no chnages - still the same problem. Any other sugegstions?

can you see it listed in the bios ok
