Iomega Drive Not Recognized

I've been using this drive for about a year - Iomega 450 gig - but today I get the message USB Device not recognized. I am using Vista, the drive is turning on and spinning up just fine. I have tried re-starting, different USB cord, unique power source - nothing. Same error when I plug the drive into a different laptop running on XP. There is information on this drive that needs to be recovered. Any help would be much appreciated.

Re: Iomega Drive Not Recognized

If you have a pc not a laptop you may try taking the drive out of the
external enclosure and hooking it up directly to the pc. If that is not
a option you may try buying a new enclosure see if that helps. Alot
of times the enclosure itself goes bad.
