Fantom GreenDrive problem
I just bought a Fantom GreenDriveII 1 TB to back up my Acer Aspire 5315 laptop with Vista Home Basic. I used NTI Backup Now 4.7, and the backup appeared to be successful. The drive is NTFS formatted. When I viewed the drive in My Computer, the file was there, and it was 23 GB...but it was a file, and when I double-clicked it, it asked me which program I wanted to open it with...and none of them worked. I don't really need to access these files right now, but I'm planning to use this drive to transfer them to a new computer eventually. Will this be accessible on a new computer? Am I doing something wrong? Is it the backup software?
Also, I know that Macs can't write to NTFS-formatted disks, but can read them. Does that mean that, if I move the files (documents, pictures, and MP3s) onto the Mac itself, they will be writable? Thanks in advance, ~SolaGratia |
