problems burning image
I'm thinking that theres something wrong with my DVD-RW. I've been trying to burn an image file using imgburn, but keep getting this error:
"Failed to Reserve Track! - Reason: Cannot Write Medium - Incompatible Format" I'm going to try a different brand of media tomorrow. Any other suggestions? |

Re: problems burning image
I've already tried 2 burning "engines", neither of them work. I am thinking that it is my DVD-RW going bad....? I used to have Sonic on my PC, but previous "help" from another forum suggested that I remove it and use imgburn, cause sonic could be causing the problem (even though my laptop, which had the same setup, worked fine). So I currently no longer have sonic to test with. Im mostly wanting to know if theres maybe a testing program that I can use to truely see if my drive is bad. So, right now, theres 3 things Im going to try:
1. different brand media 2. replace the firewall (comodo back to ZA free, which is what the laptop had) 3. yank the drive, uninstall it then reinstall after that, I'm clueless except for buying a new drive, in which I still need to buy a laptop hard drive that I cant afford too. Can't even afford $20 cable to try to pull data from the old drive.............yeah I know, keep playing that violin........ |

Re: problems burning image
Try different media. Uninstall the drive in Device Manager and Windows will reinstall on Reboot. Try this: http://www.dougknox.com/xp/scripts_d...cd_dvd_fix.htm
You have the classic signs of a failing optical drive.
