Panasonic vhs dvd recorder
Hey all,
My brother has transferred several 8mm tapes to dvd on his panasoinc vhs dvd recorder. He said at first they played just fine but now the machine does not recognize anything on the dvd and if he tries to record on the disc, the player says it is full. if he puts the disc into another dvd players, nothing. Is there anything that can be used to retrieve the information off of the dvds onto a mac or a pc? Matt B. |

Re: Panasonic vhs dvd recorder
What played fine? 8mm tape or DVD?
Was the DVD written on compatible media? Was the DVD written in a DVD player compatible format? |

Re: Panasonic vhs dvd recorder
Both the tape and the dvd played fine. If I remember correctly he left the dvd as and open format to add videos at a later date. The dvd's were burned on the panasonic vhs/dvd player recorder. I believe that the dvd's were rewritable.

Re: Panasonic vhs dvd recorder
DVD's should be finalized when written. No additional data should be written on them after the first burn. Make sure that the DVD player normally accepts rewritable media because many that I know of do not.

Re: Panasonic vhs dvd recorder
I can't think of any but you should have the source tape to make a new copy with proper media and formatting.

Re: Panasonic vhs dvd recorder
I can't help you on that problem. You should find the tapes and write a proper copy of the disks on proper media.
