DVD drive problem with recordable media
My DVD-RW drive (listed as "HL-DT-ST DVD-RAM GSA-H55N" in Windows Device Manager) reads factory recorded CDs & DVDs but doesn't recognize any (new or already recorded) recordable media: after loading a dvd it usually behaves as if nothing were loaded; occasionally an Autoplay menu pops up, but after I choose an item, the message "Please insert a disk in drive G:" is displayed.
- This happens also with quality media - I already tried uninstalling/reinstalling the drive Thanks in advance for any suggestion! |

What brand is the "quality Media" you are attempting to use?
Give this a try; http://www.dougknox.com/xp/scripts_d...cd_dvd_fix.htm
