DVD and CD Drives together
Is it ok to have a Pioneer DVR-115D DVD Burner as the master and a Liteon CD-RW Drive as the slave on the same machine?
If not what would be a good combination for the DVD burner mentioned above and Liteon CD drives (any)? |

Re: DVD and CD Drives together
Im wondering if this setup would cause confusion with your hdd which is the master. why not set both optical drive jumpers to cable select?

Re: DVD and CD Drives together
It is a perfectly acceptable & preferable connection for the drives.
Using Cable Select is the proper way to jumper the drives if you are using an 80 wire IDE cable. The device on the end connector (Black) will be Primary and the device in the middle connector (Gray) will be Secondary. @crimp56 I assume the Hdd is on the Primary IDE Mobo connection and the optical drives are on the secondary IDE Mobo connector.
