External hard drive delayed write/unrecognizable shows up after awhile.
Hi,
I have Iomega external drive which worked fine for longer than a year but recentely i'd start getting delayed write failed. then usually when i try to turn it off/ turn it on, in windows it says "unrecognizable usb device". But when I try disconnecting the usb cable from my laptop and connect it to a different one, it's being recognized. Then I try to connect it back to my laptop, and same thing "unrecognizable usb", It works once again after reboot. But shortly it comes back again. i'v done a quick chkdsk, no errors, i defragmented the drive, but the problem keeps on coming back. the drive is 500gb and has 50gb free. I'v tried searching google but wasn't able to find any solution. any ideas how to fix this? Thanks! |
