Averatec laptop cd/dvd drive

I have an averatec 1000 series and it cant read a dvd or cd and cant eject. It was working then after i tried to rip a dvd, it couldnt so i put in a cd and it wont read it so tried to eject it but it cant. so now it cant read a dvd or cd and cant eject by the button ot by clicking eject on the right click. Drive D properties "disc used spaced" is full eventhough it's empty. Please Help!!!!!

and welcome to the Forum

Reboot and see if it will eject . . if not, Most cd drives have a small pin hole on the Bezel that you can stick a paperclip end into to eject . . The drive may have died
