DVD-RW drive not working....
I have a Gateway Laptop (MX6441) that came with Windows XP Media Center 2005. When it crashed, I installed Win XP Pro and since then my DVD/CD drive no longer reads DVDs but it does read CD's. I have a Philips DVD+-RW SDVD8441.

Hello
What was the reason for the crash?-was the optical drive the reason? Becoming unable to read DVDs is a common failure on DVD RW drives BTH: Did you change drive letters?
