DVD write does not work any more

I have i/o multiredorer magic dvd/cd write, I installed it 6 moths ago and it was working just fine I would take me only 10 min to burn a 4.7 G dvd, but now it won't work. what ever software I use there is a start but it won't pick up any speed for the writting. It buffers right at the beginning and it gets stucked right there.
There is something else. When I phsycly turn the device, a balloon pups from the menu bar at the botton it says ...... "This USB deice can perform faster if you connect it to Hi-Speed USB 2.0 port. For a list of available port click here." ..... then, I click on it but nothing. there is not list.

This problem started just a few days ago. I am confused because when I first inalled I never got that balloon before and I used this device on daily basis ever since I installed. Could anyone pls help me to trouble shoot this matter?

Hello and Welcome to TSF,

Where are you connecting the device? try connecting it to a rear usb port.
(not in the front panel of pc)

Re: DVD write does not work any more

I kind of notice that every one else's post is getting a respond. pls is there any body that can help me? Now I noticed that both of my dvd/cd drives are not working, the externa and the internal. They don't read, play or write on dvd or cd. When I couble click on the icon drive on either of them from drive c/ and with disc, all I get is an empty window. I apologize if this topic is related to the malware removal, but just did not see it that. Since that matter was already resolved I decided to post a new.

Re: DVD write does not work any more

Hello,

1. Close all open programs
2. Click on Start, Run, and type REGEDIT and press Enter
3. Click on the plus signs (+) next to the following folders

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
SYSTEM
CurrentControlSet
Control
Class
{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

4) This folder is the DVD/CD-ROM Drive Class Description in the registry. Look for any of the
following names in the right hand column.

UpperFilters
LowerFilters
UpperFilters.bak
LowerFilters.bak

5. If any of the above keys shown in step 4 are listed, right-click on them and choose Delete

6) After deleting the keys, close the Registry Editor

7) Reboot your computer

NOTE: After removing these registry keys and rebooting, it may be necessary to reinstall any CD or DVD recording applications.

Re: DVD write does not work any more

Well, I tried everything you mentioned and nothing. This morning I did a system recovery on my pc. now I am back with all the drivers uptodate. Except for one my printer. The system recovery fixed my two dvd and cd drives the external and the internal. I am pretty sure that that was the only way to fix my problem. Now I am able to play, write, and do everything that those two dvd/cd drives are suppose to do. I cheked this site for that topic and did not find any resolved I wonder if this kind of issue is pretty hard for you guys.

But any ways, I fixed the problem my self and they are running good for now, I guess that's all that matter.

thanks
