Lost dvd

Plese help.
I've lost my dvd. The dvd is shown in bios in boot prďority. I reinstaled the system by booting from the cd, so the mechanic is ok. I also atteched another dvd and it doesn't resolve the problem. And finaly that problem. The icon of the dvd doesn't shown in My computer. I don't know how does it in English in Czech it is Správce zařízení. It is in options system hardware and it is list of all equipment attached to the PC. And there is Dvd doesn't shown too.
Thank for help.
P.S. Sorry for my English.

Re: Lost dvd

Hi FrancF, welcome to TSF

Have you installed or uninstalled any CD-burning software recently? This can sometimes cause your problem with missing drive icons.

Go to Start > Run > regedit and remove the Upperfilters and Lowerfilters values from this registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SYSTEM \ CurrentControlSet \ Control \ Class \ {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
Then reboot to complete.

Important: Make a backup (File>Export) before making any changes to the registry.
