[SOLVED] PC cannot see my 60 gig WD Passport
I have a USB 2.5 inch 60 GB Western Digital Passport model WD600U017-000 I have used to store photos from my 7 yr old dell and everything worked fine. recently, when I would click My Computer and select the drive from the list, I got the response "insert a disk in the drive", so the pc saw the drive but could not see the files on it. Later, I plugged the Passport into my wife's newer laptop. It opened the Passport and I viewed files with no problems. I would greatly appreciate any suggestions.

Re: PC cannot see my 60 gig WD Passport
After reading some other similar problems, I unplugged my Passport from my hub (CablesToGo usb 7 port) and plugged it into the back of my PC. It worked! I'm not sure what wisdom I can draw from that experience, other to replace my hub. Any thoughts?

Re: PC cannot see my 60 gig WD Passport
For me, I never plug in a external or flash drive until I need it. I may
be wrong but Ive found when you boot with these items attached its not picked up, or the pc wants to boot from the item. Wierd deal Im sure there is a explanation for it, I just dont have one.
