win2k hangs during boot with LG sata dvd
Hi all
I am installing a sata dvd burner in a new build asrock n68s mother board, athlon x2 2.6ghz processor, 2gb ram WD 320gb sata hdd, WD 30gb pata . I had to use the dos ver of Data lifeguard tools to get my sata hdd installed because windows would would give me a bsod error if I started my pc with the wd320 installed. I could not use the win version of data life guard tools if windows wouldn't start Anyway, I got the sata 320 installed, transfered win2k from the WD30 hdd to the wd320. Then I resized my partition to 260gb from 137gb. All that completed I have the same problem with my LG sata dvd burner. Windows hangs during startup if I have my sata dvd drive installed. Lg support is not very helpful but said the drive in question supports win2k , and I havn't been able to find any thing at microsoft website that said anything about w2k and sata problems. I installed the software that came on disk with the new drive with same result. Also my bios correctly IDs both sata devices. I'm pretty sure the problem is with win2k. Any help would be greatly appreciated!![]() Thanks for any help, Forthangel
