Double layer DVD writting

Hi everyone,

I have a SH-S182F Samsung dvd writer on my PC (P4 3.0Ghz, Dell optiplex) which i use regularly to burn dvd-r without any problems. Recently i got hold of some double sided blank dvds which i would like to start using now cause they offer almost 9 Gb of storage.

However I keep getting these errors while attempting to burn these dvds using nero start smart although the same program never threw up any errors previously.

"Could not perform end of disc at once";"Burn process failed at 10x (13,850KB/s)"

I need to know if there is some software upgrade i need to do or that my dvd writer is not fit to handle double sided dvd burning or that my machine needs an upgrade.

Any suggestions would be most welcome as i desparately need to backup data regularly on my pc and this would greatly ease my tasks.
