Won't burn DVD+?

I have a Dell with Vista 32 bit desk PC that's about 17 months old.
I burn music and movies onto CD & DVD's disks.
All of a sudden my burner stopped burning the DVD+ disks, when it used to. Although, it still burns the DVD-disks.
As long as I try to burn a DVD+ it goes through the burning process and then ejects the DVD+ saying burning complete.
But when it comes to playing the DVD+ it gets ejected saying put in a disk in to the drive E. I don't know what gets burned onto the DVD+ because I can never see it.
I bought a + & - burner and would like my burner to burn both.
My burner is a Pioneer DVD + - RW DR-K175.
Any help in why and how to fix it?

What burning software are you using?

yes, I've used CD & DVD's by Sony, Memorex, and even cheap ones like HP and Verbatim. They all have worked on my burner up until recently, a couple of months now. The DVD+ is the only ones that my burner won't burn.
The video software I use is Windows DVD maker, Express Burn, Imgburn. All have worked and now all won't burn DVD+ any more.
I haven't added, uninstalled, or changed anything on my PC to cause this to happen except maybe Vista service pack 1. Which I don't think it because everything that I know of still works fine except this problem. I don't use my PC every day and the software installed every time I use my PC. So if it did do something to my PC I may not know about it until I use that software again which it may be months between use. That is way I can't eliminate Vista service pack 1.

check the disk is finalised

do you have a burn log you can post

I don't know a lot about the PC. How do I check the disk is finalized? I just run the DVD's through the burner and out comes the movie. I never had to check the disk is finalized before.
How do I get the burn log? I still have my DVD+ I had bought so I will try burning one and look for a burn log and post it. Thanks, Anfurnee.

the burn log if there is one is usually on the C drive

finalise is usually a check box you tick

Sorry about not getting back sooner, I wasn't able to get online. I don't know what a source disc is. Is it the DVD or CD that's being burned?
Just in case it is.
The problem happens with any brand or DVD, tried them all Sony, Memorex, etc. I even tried cheap ones like HP and Verbatim. As long as the DVD has a + (plus symbol) it won't burn onto the DVD+.
A DVD- (minus symbol) will burn just fine. When I first bought my PC the DVD burner used to burn both DVD+ - DVD's. Thank you for the help.

the source disk is where you have the files you are burning from

most use dvd- here so i don't know about burning dvd+

All my movies are kept on the same hard drive in the same Video folder.
The burner being able to burn + and - DVD's was one of the reasons why I liked this PC.
But something happened and now it won't burn a DVD+ anymore.
I've tried different burning software, I was using Roxio when this started.
Is there any software you suggest I try?
Is there anything at all that I can do to get this burner burning DVD+ again?

anfurnee Registered User Join Date: May 2009 Posts: 13 OS: vista 32 bit	Won't burn DVD+? I have a Dell with Vista 32 bit desk PC that's about 17 months old. I burn music and movies onto CD & DVD's disks. All of a sudden my burner stopped burning the DVD+ disks, when it used to. Although, it still burns the DVD-disks. As long as I try to burn a DVD+ it goes through the burning process and then ejects the DVD+ saying burning complete. But when it comes to playing the DVD+ it gets ejected saying put in a disk in to the drive E. I don't know what gets burned onto the DVD+ because I can never see it. I bought a + & - burner and would like my burner to burn both. My burner is a Pioneer DVD + - RW DR-K175. Any help in why and how to fix it? Thank you all for your help. Tony

They all have worked on my burner up until recently, a couple of months now. The DVD+ is the only ones that my burner won't burn. The video software I use is Windows DVD maker, Express Burn, Imgburn. All have worked and now all won't burn DVD+ any more. I haven't added, uninstalled, or changed anything on my PC to cause this to happen except maybe Vista service pack 1. Which I don't think it because everything that I know of still works fine except this problem. I don't use my PC every day and the software installed every time I use my PC. So if it did do something to my PC I may not know about it until I use that software again which it may be months between use. That is way I can't eliminate Vista service pack 1. I hope I explained my self clearly and hanks for your help, Anfurnee.

Is it the DVD or CD that's being burned? Just in case it is. The problem happens with any brand or DVD, tried them all Sony, Memorex, etc. I even tried cheap ones like HP and Verbatim. As long as the DVD has a + (plus symbol) it won't burn onto the DVD+. A DVD- (minus symbol) will burn just fine. When I first bought my PC the DVD burner used to burn both DVD+ - DVD's. Thank you for the help.

The burner being able to burn + and - DVD's was one of the reasons why I liked this PC. But something happened and now it won't burn a DVD+ anymore. I've tried different burning software, I was using Roxio when this started. Is there any software you suggest I try? Is there anything at all that I can do to get this burner burning DVD+ again? Thank you for your help.

Besides software, what else can I do to get this burner working? I'm getting a little frustrated with this PC and burner, nothing I try will work. Than you for your help.

Tell me something. I don't know anything about computers so when a link doesn't work for me i'm lost and don't know what to do. So with a burner problem i'm really lost. Besides software, what else can I do to get this burner working? Thanks.
