Does this device exist?

Hi All,

I want a device that will allow me to copy my CD image files (ISO) to it and allow me to boot the CD image file from the boot menu during POST. Anyone know where I can pick on up? I googled, but didn't find anything.

Why you ask? Here's a few reason:

- Speed - flash media or hard drive should be faster then CD media and speed up a Windows installation.
- reduce the need to carry a case of CD because you can store all the OS installation image files on the flash storage.
- stop the waste of burning a CDs just to try a new OS, such as the latest Ubuntu or Windows 7 beta.
- great device for netbook users who have no built-in CD Drives.

Thanks,

Peter

Re: Does this device exist?

Thanks for the reply. I have experience booting from flash/pen/usb drives. I even installed Windows from a flash drive, but this require hacking or non-standard instructions to get done. So for every OS, you would have to find out what needs to be done.

I just want a way to boot off ISO image files from the POST boot menu.

Thanks,
