DVD drive isnt reading Company of Heroes (and other DVDs)

when i insert Company of Heroes into the DVD drive the drive doesnt read it. It is a DVD drive. The disk is brand new and other DVDs dont work. ive tried microsoft update and restarting my computer but it isnt working

when i click My computer the actually drive shows up but when i click on it its blank

Does it read CD's?

Have a look @ device manager to see if there are any exclamations marks. (expand all the categories)

it can read cds fine and theres no exclamation marks

What Brand/Model drive is it?

I dont know if it has any emulation/virtual software installed.

It says lightscribe on it. the provider is microsoft, and it says the manufacturer is (Standard CD-ROM Drive) the driver date is 7/1/2001

have you done the filters
the driver comes with windows date not a problem

the dvd laser may be dirty or gone
try cleaning the laser
can you try the drive on another computer to check it
