Just like so many others I need help with a Drive Not Accessible error

I am having the same trouble saying that my CD-ROM drive is Not Accessible / Incorrect Function. Now, I have tried numerous things already.

I tried: the CD-R drive or CD-RW drive is not recognized as a recordable device article through http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=316529. I set the value to 1, 2, and 3 at different times to just play with it. I think it's just that I need to get that recording tab into the properties of the CD drive.

I also tried uninstalling and reinstalling the drive and the drivers.

None of these things have worked.

I've had this system for 3 days now, and this is the only problem that I've had with it so far.

My OS is Win XP Pro SP3 and my CD drive is a Pioneer DVD-RW DVR-216D

On the HCL for Windows, both XP and Vista, they have DVR-216 & 216EA.

So does my exact model number have to be on the HCL?
And how do I get the recording tab?

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!

Re: Just like so many others I need help with a Drive Not Accessible error

Also, I can read discs, burn discs through apps (like WMP), I just don't have that Recording tab, and can't access blank discs. I also checked my IMAPI, and it is started. I also tried restarting it just for S's & G's.
