New Sata External Drive Slow?
Today I replaced my ageing Maxtor 500GB external HD (model 3200) with a Verbatim 640GB Sata external HD.
I was expecting to see a massive increase in data transfer, but it seems comparable to the IDE drive I'm replacing. I thought SATA offered great speed compared to IDE? My backup (just my docs folders) is still taking the same amount of time to copy, yet I thought SATA was 15 times faster? Could anyone explain this to me? Thanks Steve |
