iPod sync'd and lost all data

Hi, I plugged my iPod into my computer to charge via usb, and for some reason it was set to autosync and it wiped my iPod. I can't put the files back on because i'm on a different computer and no longer have the files, Can you guys please link me to a program to recover them or something? I've seen a few but they all cost about 50-80 bucks and I have no money so preferably free if you could, Or tell me how to do it manually if possible.

Cheers

Also it's an iPod nano, Unsure what generation but it's rectangular, and it's an 8 gig if that helps.
