External HDD not transferring back songs completely
Before I reformatted my desktop computer, I backed up everything on my new 640gb Western Digital MyBook external Hard Drive. Everything transferred fine onto it, and everything transferred back onto the newly formatted desktop computer just fine. So I thought?
Mostly all of my songs have the first 2-6 seconds cut off of them now when I open them in any music program from my desktop computer. When I plug in the External HDD and play the songs on there, all of them seem exactly perfect as I had them before with no cutoffs. So, it seems like my songs transferred onto the external HDD perfectly, but when I transferred them back, they got cut off. I deleted all the songs off my computer and tried transferring them back again, and again some songs are cutoff in the beginning, but it's different songs and different cutoff times. I'm thinking it's transferring so fast that it's losing some data maybe? So, my question is, is there a way to have the HDD transfer the files slower and more accurately. (Kind of like burning a DVD at a slower burning rate for better accuracy). |
