cd dvd player

My cd dvd player quit working. It also will not install any new programs. Any suggustions?

As Riceboyws6 suggested delete the upper/lower filters:

So deleting the filters did not work?

What is the make and model of the CD-Rom
Go to the device manager and open the + under DVD/CD-rom
Post the make/model #

What is the make and model of the computer?
