I just bought/installed Lite-on dvd/cd r/w as I had problems w/ the Phillips I removed & had problems w/ the one before that (Dell replaced). The unit is not recognized and I am not too savvy on where to begin. Wondering if this was a windows and/or software problem to begin with after reading some of the other threads. Can someone help? If I'm in the wrong area, feel free to redirect me - I'm new. TIA.

Re: Lite-On dvd/cd r/w installed not recognized
check the jumper is set as master and is on the the end of the cable on the black plug
or if you have another drive on the cable set as slave and connect to the middle grey plug
