My Western Digital Essential 500GB My Book Harddrive is clicking
Hello,
Not sure If I have chosen the right forum here. I have a 500GB western Digital portable USB Hard Drive Called a MY Book Essentials. It's about 2 years old and this is the first time I've had problems with it and I am afraid it is done. When I plug it into the computer or boot it up with the computer all it does is click when trying to load. It doesn't show up in My Computer or Explore but it does show up in Device Manager. I've heard that the clicking means it bad but is there anyway to extract the data from it still or am I screwed ?? any help is appreciated and thanks, Darryl |
