DVD's gone
After being no trouble at all for 2 years both my dvd burners are gone from My computer. In Devices they show up as IDE dvd's but with the dreaded yellow!
If I Restore to say, 2 weeks ago they come back but are gone again on the next days boot. The pc is Widows Media Centre Edition and I do not have the disc but do have a system recovery disc I made on day one as and when instructed. I do have a win XP PRO disc if that would be of help. Dave. |

Re: DVD's gone
Thanks Mak'
I did in fact find that via Google and tried it to no avail, but then I am very nervous about hacking the Registry and might not have done it correctly! I have however deduced that the drives have been removed when I uninstalled iTunes! (which son installed against my better judgement many months ago). This is a partial solution as it seems I must now keep iTunes **** even tho' we neither now need or want it! I suppose a full format and install would fix things but I don't have the energy at the mo! Dave. Do Msoft know of this? |

Not sure if this will help but there is some documentation from iTunes http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2372?viewlocale=en_US Maybe Apple has issued an update for the issue. |

Re: DVD's gone
Yes, well thanks again,
That is about more Registry surgery. If I get a pc tech' to do it for me do you think Apple will re-imburse me? 'Bout as much chance as winning the lottery, then I won't care! Dave. |
