[SOLVED] Another DVD problem

I have a CD drive but I recently added a DVDRW drive to my PC.
It is Liteon DVDRW LH20A1P but I can't get any sound from it on DVDs only. I'm running XP Pro SP3. The CD drive is fine but if I try to play the DVD drive, I get good video but no sound. Strangely, if I play CD through the new drive it plays perfectly with sound. I have checked the drivers, installed the software several times, installed the drive carefully in accordance with the instructions and set the jumpers. Both drives show up on Device Manager. The problem may be something simple, but over three days I have tried everything without success. Can anyone help please? Regards, Ron

Grin Re: Another DVD problem

Hello Dai,
Thanks - you're a lifesaver. I downloaded the XP Codec Pack from the site and bingo. I have been trying various codec downloads and none seemed to work. I think I must have been only trying 'video' codecs. I can't thank you enough, Best Regards, Ron Harding
