Cannot drag files into external hard drive

Hi, I've got a Packard Bell Store and Save external hard drive for storing family pics, music files, etc. I've had it for about 2 years now and it has worked well. Recently I found I can no longer drag files into the Store and Save. I can access what's on the Store and Save and transfer things to my laptop without any problems, so it's not like I can't access the things that are on there already.

However, it's annoying that I can't seem to add files to it anymore. There's still plenty of space available on it. The Store and Save shows up as the E drive like it always did before. I'm running Windows XP. I need to back up some things and when I drag the files into the Store and Save, the red light just keeps blinking on the unit and a progress window shows up that will give a ridiculous time amount for a single mp3 file (69 minutes!). Does anyone have a clue as to how to fix this?

Many thanks in advance!
