Roll Eyes Sony DVD RW AW-G170A ATA Device:

My DVD sony AW-170A device are also showing same problem like what was said in this. It never even reads the DVD or cD s too. what cld be th problem. plssss its been around 5 month i cld nt access the DVD

try removing the upper and lower filters

i found a firm ware given for the DVD not reading the DVD problem in SOny AW-170A. is it advisable to go for the firmwares to flash it my computer. advice me what to do?

new firmware for the drive adds to it's ability to recognise more brands of disks
i must have updated mine half a dozen times
i get my firmware from here
http://codeguys.rpc1.org/utilities.html
but using 3rd party f/ware voids any warranty

I tried to remove the upper and lower filters as per the guidelines given in that site. still it is not resolved.can u help me out.

is there any yellow alongside of it's entry in the device manager

right click on it's entry and choose uninstall
then reboot the computer and check it
