DVD Drive Not Working
Sorry if this is the wrong place to post this...
Anyway, a few days ago (not exactly sure when, but I first noticed it Sunday Afternoon) my DVD drive icon on my laptop disappeared... I am running Vista Home Premium (32 bit i think) on a Toshiba Satellite Laptop. When i ran Device Manager, under DVD\CD Rom Drives, all of the drivers having a warning sign on then (the yellow triangle with an exclamation mark) Heres what I have: HL-DT-SL DVDRAM GSA-T20N ATA Device YTITUD W5UNKL2VKXQ7 SCSI CdRom Device (theres 3 of these for some reason). When I go to Properties for the HL-DT-SL under General, in Device Status I get the message... "Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19) Click 'Check for solutions' to send data about this device to Microsoft and to see if there is a solution available." If I run Check for Solutions, it does something for a few seconds and just stops. Restarting doesn't fix my issue If I check to update drivers, it says I am up to date. But I have a feeling that my drivers are corrupt or something. I am sort of afraid if I uninstall the CD drivers, I won't be able to fix it. Anyone know what I can do? |
