HOW TO REMOVE PEN DRIVE WRITE PROTECTION(there is no switch in my drive)
hi
im using "4GB IMATION POCKET FLASH DRIVE"
RECENTLY its giving a message like" disk is write protected - remove write protectioniam not able to copy any thing in to it and im not able to format it__ please help me

my system specs:
intel pentium4 processor ,giga byte mother board ,winXP(sp2) OS, 512mb RAM ____PLEASE HELPME [

Hi,

I have the same problem. I am using an 8GB Transcend pen drive which shows as write protected. My OS is Windows XP. Pl help resolve.

Any user use USB anti virus program?
If yes try to this,
uncheck "Disable writing of any usb devices".
Dont use this software? any one (maybe your friends use this software and disable write protection in your pendrive ) contact your friends.

OR

download USB anti virus program from google search, and try to uncheck disable writing option.

If that doesnt work, which unfortunately it doesnt support all types of flash drives, then try use this to sort it out. Its a bit advanced but will sort it out no problems.

i think this write protection error is due to some virus.
Steps to remove write protection for Transcend users
1) Go to download center of the transcend,here is the link
http://www.transcendusa.com/Support/DLCenter
Type the model no. or part of model number you are looking for.
example: JFV30(all alphabets in Caps )
2) Choose other details like product type etc. and search for your product
3)Then select the product which which is most similar to yours from search results
4)Then download the mFormat utility. You will asked for serial no. if you dont have..enter this no. 1456784523
5) Connect your pen drive
6) run the mformat utility and select full format after full format your write protection will be removed. try twice or thrice if you can't correct at first time.
Thats all...

It worked for me and my friends....

Other pen drive users may visit there vendors site and download any fromat utility present there for your model.

i was having the problem of write protection with my 8gb transcend jet flash drive JF V10...
i tried ur way n downloaded the reqired software... but when i clicked the start button given on the console.. the following message flashed..
"The UFD cannot use this program to repair"

please help me out with furthur solution.

Download the JetFlash Recovery Tool from the link above.
Install the software and use to recover your flash drive...

install and choose last option that may be for formatting after finishing this restart the pc and seee
