OS: windows xp pro

XP does not always recognize external usb cd/dvd drive
I use an external Memorex cd/dvd double layer 16 times drive. When windows reboots with it plugged in it sometimes recognizes the drive and assigns it a letter however it will not play a disk or do anything untill I remove the usb cable, it dissappears from windows explorer, 10 seconds later I plug the usb cable back in windows picks it right away and works fine.
Any suggestions as to what is causing this. My OS is Windows XP Pro. with all of the updates available. I am also having a problem with getting the InCD portion of nero version 8 to work, if anyone has experienced this I would like to know. |
