Samsung DVD writer stopped writing

I installed a Samsung SH-S202H in May. It worked fine until a few weeks ago. Now it does not see blank discs. You can still use it as a drive, i.e. you can copy data from CDs, you can play music CDs and install software, but if you try to burn a CD or a DVD, it acts as if there is no blank media in the drive and asks you to put one in, although it is already there.

Any ideas?

remove the upper and lower filters
