Device Error - Sense Code(3 73 04) ?

I bought a spindle of DVD+Rs from Staples about a week ago so that I could burn some video that was taking up space on my hard drive. I've been using Sonic MyDVD 9, and everything was peachy. I got through a few discs when it gave me this error:

Device Error - Sense Code(3 73 04) - Program Memory Area/RMA Update Failure - Sequential Write 2130932484

So I switched out that disc with another. It burned fine. I got to the 7th disc that I was burning and it did it again. I googled the device error code and I found a forum topic suggesting that it might be bad DVD media; is this true overall, or is it just the single discs themselves? Because like I said, when this happened the first time, I just swapped discs and it burned fine. It's not as though I have money enough to go and buy burnable DVDs all willy-nilly, and I don't want to try and burn another one if it's just going to do the same thing.

I bought DVDs that can deal with a writespeed of up to 16x. My DVD writer can do up to 8x, and I set the burn speed to auto in MyDVD. Could this have anything to do with it? I don't recall if I've been consistent with setting it to auto or not; I may have set it to a specific speed before.

Any ideas?

Also, specs-wise:

Dell Inspiron 1501
Windows Vista Home Basic
AMD Turion 64 Mobile Technology MK-36 2.00 GHz
512 MB RAM
TSSTcorp DVD+-RW TS-L632D ATA Device

Anyway... yeah.

Thanks for your help. S'buggin' me.
