External drive not showing up in My Computer

hi!
I just moved my computer and now that I have it all plugged in and up and running again, one of my external hard drives isn't appearing in "My Computer!" Weird.

It's connected, and works fine, but I can't access it through My Computer, and thus from any programs. I made a shortcut on my desktop to the drive and I can access it and the files through the shortcut. When I made the shortcut, I just said J: and it found the hard drive and the volume name and made the right icon.

Why isn't it in My Computer? When I plug the drive into another computer it comes up correctly on My Computer and gives me an autorun dialog box asking what I want to do (play files, show as a folder, etc.)

eta: It's a western digital MyBook 320GB USB 2.0 drive. I'm running windows XP with all the SP's on a athlon xp 3200+ compaq presario. I've had the drive connected for months.

bump - been 10 days!! Anybody???

I just unplugged another the external drives to use it on my notebook - like I do all the time - and when I plugged it back in to my desktop machine - NO ICON. It's not listed in My Computer - but it's connected and I can access it if I make a shortcut to it or go through the command panel. HOW DO I GET IT BACK AVAILABLE TO MY COMPUTER???
