Pencil [SOLVED] CD/DVD Rom in XP

Right here's the issue,

I have "ImgBurn" on my PC and until now this program has been met my needs...
However, a friend used my PC and installed Alcohol 120% Trial and since then ImgBurn is not finding a device to burn to.

The drive is found in windows and found in Device manager.

Is there anyway in XP I can tell the CD rom which program to use like the Wireless Zero Configuration for wireless devices in XP?

Greatfull for any help.

Jamie

Re: CD/DVD Rom in XP

Hi Jamie,

Some burners will only find a device when a recordable media is inserted. Could that be the problem? I haven't tried ImgBurn, but I've tries several others.

Best regards,
Mack1

Re: CD/DVD Rom in XP

Hi Jamie,

Earlier versions of Roxio used to install an application that it needed that would keep Nero and others from working. Alcohol 120% don't do that, but somehow might be related. You might want to uninstall Alcohol and see if that clears it up.

Have you tried other burners to see if they have the same problem?
