Need Firmware for Optical Drive
Can't find it anywhere except in a bin file format, and I don't know how to update it with the bin.
My drive is a TSSTCorp CD/DVDW TS-H552L from an HP Pavilion A1226N I tried looking for the original firmware (and hopefully an update for it) on the HP site and on the Drivers page for my computer (http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/s...1153954&dlc=da) Firmwhere? Help? |

Re: Need Firmware for Optical Drive
Be warned, a firmware update can easily render your drive useless if you do not follow the instructions carefully, are 100% sure you have the correct revision and have sufficient knowledge of updating firmware.
Instructions on how to use a BIN file are explained here... http://www.softwaredriverdownload.co...d_program.html Unless your drive is having or causing serious problems, updating your firmware is not advised.

Re: Need Firmware for Optical Drive
I just reinstalled the drivers from device manager, and I also think that this had to do with this my other problem with my drive at this topic
([SOLVED] E:/ is not accessable and no recording tab) When I changed the value in my registry. Now I cant read any disk and this is getting really weird. I wan to go back to the previous registry save but I'm not sure where my program saves it. Ill try to find out. |

Re: Need Firmware for Optical Drive
Hi, your old Registry entries will have been saved in My Documents.
If you can't find them, do a System Restore to when it was all working perfectly. (You'll have to reinstall any programs you've installed since that date, but your personal files are not touched).
